Jemma Hogwood

Jemma has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University College London in the UK. She is registered to practice as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council in the UK and with the Rwanda Allied Health Professions Council.

Jemma has been involved with Solid Minds from the beginning, helping to set up the organisation, working to foster partnerships, growing the team, and ensuring quality services. Jemma has lived in Rwanda since 2010 initially working with an organisation supporting survivors of the Rwandan genocide. Her work has included psychological training, consultation, project evaluation, and research, as well as professional clinical supervision to other psychologists and counsellors.

Jemma is a warm, approachable, and compassionate therapist who works together with her clients to support them to make positive changes in their life. Jemma has over 10 years of experience working with adults and children across a broad range of difficulties including problems related to anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, physical illness, and life transitions. She particularly enjoys working with children and families. Jemma will tailor therapy interventions to suit a client’s needs, drawing on a combination of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), as well as Narrative and Solution Focused techniques.

Solid Minds Press Release

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Nations, a voluntary association of 56 independent and equal countries. Home to 2.5 billion people, the Commonwealth encompasses both advanced economies and developing countries. Rwanda joined the Commonwealth in 2009 as the 54th member state and proudly hosted the 2022 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
