Jemma has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University College London in the UK. She is registered to practice as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council in the UK. Jemma is a warm, approachable and compassionate therapist who works together with her clients to support them to make positive changes in their life.
Jemma has over 10 years of experience working with adults and children across a broad range of difficulties including problems related to anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, physical illness, and life transitions. She particularly enjoys working with children and families. Jemma will tailor therapy interventions to suit a client’s needs, drawing on a combination of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), as well as Narrative and Solution Focused techniques. Jemma has lived in Rwanda for 7 years predominantly working with an organization supporting survivors of the Rwandan genocide and her work has included psychological training, consultation, supervision, project evaluation, and research. Jemma also offers professional clinical supervision to other psychologists and counselors. Works in English.
