Khanyisile Adrianna Dhlomo

Khanyisile is a Mental Health and Wellness Generalist Mastercard Foundation Scholar Fellow at Solid Minds. She holds a postgraduate honours degree in Social Development and a Bachelor degree of Social Work, both from the University of Cape Town. She is currently registered to practice as a Social Worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professions.

Khanyisile’s passion for mental health stems from her belief that everyone deserves access to the support and resources needed to live fulfilling and healthy lives. She is committed to working with communities to identify and address social issues that impact well-being, and to develop sustainable solutions. Throughout her studies she honed her skills in counselling, crisis intervention, assessment, and case management, and has a strong understanding of the impact of systemic and cultural factors on mental health and social well-being. Khanyisile has developed skills and knowledge in project management, proposal writing, food security and livelihood resilience, as well as awareness raising and advocacy for preventing gender-based violence. Khanyisile has also been actively involved in volunteering and community outreach efforts for over 10 years, which experiences have connected her with people from different backgrounds and strengthened  her understanding of diversity.

At Solid Minds she is engaged in the stigma reduction activities by supporting the development of concepts for different activities, designing psychoeducational materials, creating and facilitating workshops and support groups,  and collecting and analysing data for monitoring and evaluation purposes.

She works in English, Ndebele, Xhosa and Shona.
