Dr. Rama Kamal is a Board-Certified Consultant Psychiatrist and Consultant in Addiction Medicine with a PhD in Addiction Psychiatry and over 23 years of international clinical experience across the Netherlands, Sudan, Qatar, and now Rwanda. She is also a Professor of Psychiatry at UMST, Rwanda.

She provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for depression, anxiety, psychosis, personality disorders, substance use disorders, and dual diagnosis. As a psychotherapist, she integrates evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, and Schema Therapy.
Dr. Kamal has extensive experience leading acute and long-term psychiatric and addiction services, with particular expertise in women’s mental health, trauma-informed care, and complex psychiatric comorbidity.

Having worked across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, she brings a strongly person-centred and culturally responsive approach, providing confidential, individualized care that respects each patient’s cultural and personal background. She works in English, Arabic, German, and Dutch.
