Chantal Umurungi

Chantal Umurungi is a dedicated psychologist and Senior Counsellor at Solid Minds Counselling Clinic. She holds a master’s degree in Clinical and Therapeutic Psychology from the University of Rwanda and has over 20 years of experience in mental health and psychosocial support across clinical and community settings.

Since 2004, Chantal has worked with various national public institutions and international NGOs, demonstrating a profound commitment to enhancing the psychological well-being of individuals and communities. She specializes in marital and family conflict management, helping couples and families navigate crises and rebuild healthy communication. Additionally, she has expertise in supporting children who are victims of sexual violence, using art therapy techniques to foster resilience and healing.

Chantal continuously updates her skills through professional development. She has completed extensive trainings, including a year-long program in Narrative Therapy with the Dulwich Centre Foundation, clinical supervision training with the University of Rwanda, and specialized training in Psychotherapy for Re-associative Trauma from the Milton H. Erickson Institute of Belgium.

Fluent in French, English, and Kinyarwanda, Chantal’s compassionate approach and unwavering dedication have earned her respect as a mental health professional. Her passion drives her to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she supports.
