Vedaste Kaberuka is a Rwandan researcher, data analyst, and Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) specialist with over 15 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative research, data analysis, and evidence generation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Arts from the University of Rwanda and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Environmental Science at Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU). He has also served as an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Gitwe.

His research experience spans mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), wellbeing, resilience, and psychosocial vulnerabilities, with particular interest in university students, refugees, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations. He brings strong expertise in research design, sampling, tool development, fieldwork coordination, data quality assurance, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and research reporting.

Vedaste has contributed to research and evaluation assignments for government institutions, civil society, development partners, and academic programs, including the Higher Education Council, Gender Monitoring Office, International Alert Rwanda, Transparency International Rwanda, UNHCR, Rwanda Green Fund, and Solid Minds through the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. He is particularly passionate about translating evidence into practical, inclusive, and culturally responsive approaches that strengthen mental health programs and services. Vedaste is fluent in Kinyarwanda, English, French, and Kiswahili, with a good working knowledge of Chinese.
