Samuel Amanya
MEL Manager
Samuel is a mixed-methods researcher and impact measurement specialist with expertise in MEL systems design, program evaluation, research methodology, large-scale survey implementation, cost-benefit analysis, program financial analysis and planning, and advanced data analytics. His professional experience spans the private, public, and non-profit sectors across financial services, risk management, business advisory, and development research.
He has worked with notable organizations including Abbott Laboratories, Deloitte, Plan International, Oxfam America, World Vision, and the Mastercard Foundation, where he provided technical analyses, business advisory, managed research teams, and developed MEL frameworks, research tools, and analytical approaches to support data-driven decision-making and project effectiveness.
Samuel founded a research and analytics professional services company and actively contributes to community initiatives, including participation in the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI). As MEL Manager at Solid Minds, he applies his expertise in MERL, survey implementation, research design, and statistical analysis to drive organizational impact and foster innovation.
Samuel holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of California Berkeley, where he was a Mastercard Foundation Scholar, and remains an active alumnus of the program. He is also a fellow with the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA), a research hub supporting program evaluators from Sub-Saharan Africa.
Outside of work, Samuel enjoys exploring new places, engaging with his community, reading, and mentoring young professionals in research and analytics.
